Effectiv partners with Coris to automate SMB risk & fraud decisioning

We’re excited to announce our partnership with Effectiv, a real-time risk management platform for fintech companies and financial institutions. 

Under this new partnership, Effectiv’s customers can automate risk decisioning across SMB onboarding, underwriting, and fraud prevention using Coris’s SMB intelligence products.

SMB risk & fraud decisioning

Financial services companies that serve SMBs need to automate and consolidate their risk management processes as they scale. Coris and Effectiv each address different parts of this problem. 

Coris automates the manual and error-prone SMB risk management process using proprietary data and models powered by AI. Meanwhile Effectiv aggregates insights from Coris and other data providers into one platform, and enables companies to orchestrate risk management strategies based on these insights.

With this new integration, Effectiv’s customers can access two of Coris’s products directly within the Effectiv platform: MerchantProfiler, our KYB & SMB intelligence product, and CorShield, the first fraud model purpose built for SMB onboarding fraud.

MerchantProfiler

MerchantProfiler accelerates SMB onboarding and reduces manual reviews through automated intelligence on SMBs in 46 countries. This includes:

  • The world’s first instant SMB industry classification (MCC and 6-digit NAICS codes), powered by GPTs
  • MerchantVision, the first model to automate SMB physical site inspections, powered by GPTs and Google Street View
  • Adverse media insights, which surface negative information regarding a business or its beneficial owners
  • Automated analysis of SMB websites, 3rd party consumer reviews (e.g., Google, Yelp, Facebook)
  • Real-time KYB including Secretary of State business verification, sanctions screening, and TIN matching

CorShield

CorShield prevents business impersonation fraud and first party fraud at sign-up. It helps risk teams minimize false positives and avoid expensive downstream losses.

Existing SMB fraud prevention methods either leverage generic fraud tools or manual verifications. CorShield, on the other hand, automatically triangulates known information on SMBs and cross-checks applicant data against this to assess the likelihood of fraud. For each SMB, it generates a fraud score and top reasons for the score.
